In my review I called this a pointer, my bad, you won't use it as a "pointer" as 1064 nm is not visible to the eye. I bought it to shine into a KTP crystal to see if it would make green, but unless focused into the crystal extremely tightly into a focal point, it won't produce enough green to make a beam. However, if it were Q-Switched, it would.

Bought the 2000 mw/2 watt version a few years ago, is a great 1064 nm pointer. The output power varies some down after using for a few minutes, but acceptable to me. Just wish they would make a model with a Cr:YAG Q-switch built into it, now that would be awesome.
